We are over the moon with the positive impact St Botolph’s have made, not only for our daughter but us as a family. Seeing her happy to attend school and happy coming out of school is the best feeling! Leaps and bounds has happened this year for our daughter, we are so grateful to see her thriving as she is finally understood and listened to. We are so proud! Thank you to all!
As parents we are so pleased we chose St Botolph’s as we feel both of our children have had exemplary support and care as they have progressed through their school year.
After being in this school for only one year, I am so pleased with the progress that both of my children are making. Class teachers are fantastic and always approachable no matter how busy they are, and I must say Mrs Pepper is FANTASTIC! I love attending the assemblies and school activities because of how enthusiastic she and all the teachers are! Keep up the good work.
This picture shows the stone building which was the original school, established in 1837:
As the school grew, in 1975 it was moved to a site just behind it:

Then, in February 2022, the School moved again in to a new flagship Primary School situated on the same campus. This amazing opportunity gave us the space and potential beyond anything we could have imagined. It allows the school to continue to grow in line with the increasing desire to attend our school and to support the additional Primary places required as a result of the significant housing development around the Shepsed area.
The school is controlled by the Local Education Authority who recognise the Church of England’s foundation of a school in Shepshed. The school is situated on a shared campus with Iveshead, School Hind Leys Pre-School and Bowman Academy. Children start our school when they are 4 and the majoirty of our children transfer to Iveshead for their secondary education. There are currently around 380 children on roll and we now take up to 60 children per year group.
Our official catchment area consists of both private and rented housing, however children attending St. Botolph’s come from all of Shepshed and beyond.
The school underwent a very successful SIAMS inspection in October 2023 and a successful OFSTED in November 2021.
