“

I would highly recommend this school to anybody. Even though my daughter is one of the youngest in the year, she has excelled in all areas….Great teachers and great school.

“

St Botolph’s is a wonderful school. All of the teachers and TA’s that my children have had have been highly supportive and professional. From the moment my children enter school campus they are greeted with a smile.

“

St Botolph’s is an overall fantastic school. Great topics to learn, amazing staff, wonderful support and guidance always given.

Safeguarding

What is safeguarding?

Safeguarding is a term which is broader than “child protection” and relates to the actions taken to promote the welfare of the children and protect them from harm.

Safeguarding our pupils is of paramount importance.

St Botolphs Church of England Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this ethos.

Safeguarding is everyone’s priority: if you see, hear or have any concerns about a child within school hours, please contact the office and ask for Mrs Pepper, our Designated Safeguarding Leader, on 01509 503387. If you have a concern out of hours and need help or need to report a concern, call 0116 305 0005. This number will direct you to Leicestershire Children's Social Services. If a child is immediately at risk, please call the Police.

Safeguarding Leads

Our Designated Safeguarding Leader is Mrs Emma Pepper, Head teacher. Mrs Pepper is also the Prevent leader for the school.

Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding leaders are Miss Allison Lawley, Deputy Head teacher and Mrs Nicola Robe, Family & Mental Wellbeing Lead.

Policy

Our detailed safeguarding policy is available in our policies tab (this policy also includes our Low Level Concerns policy), In addition, safegurding is supported with a number of our additional policies: Anti Bullying policy, E- Safety policy, Behaviour policy and  Relationships and Sex Education policy

Operation Encompass

Our school is part of Operation Encompass. This is a police and education early intervention safeguarding partnership which supports children and young people who experience Domestic Abuse. Our school is currently taking part in a pilot Operation Encompass information sharing study, which involves the police sharing information with the school's DSL/ DDSLs about incidents reported to them that may have caused trauma to a child. This involves reporting incidents that the police have attended where they feel there has been an impact upon a child’s physical, emotional or mental well-being. This information is shared so that our school can better understand children’s living experience and can support, nurture and care for them more effectively.
